Volunteering at Garden City Rescue Mission. Thank you for your interest in the ministry of Garden City Rescue Mission. This is an extension ministry of Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta . We operate under the guidance and blessing of this local church. Therefore the mission is operated in the spirit of an Independent Baptist church. Volunteers are a big part of the ministry here and we would have a tough time operating and serving the needy without the help of caring individuals and churches. Serve a Meal  Many of the meals served at the mission each week are prepared and served by our volunteers.We have churches, families, Sunday school classes and mission teams who come on a monthly basis and bring a meal. This is a huge help to us because it helps to keep our food cost down and is a great way to minister to others. If you would like more information on bringing a meal. Preaching in a Chapel Service. We have five chapel services a week at the rescue mission. Normally the time is from seven until eight o'clock each evening. We ask that anyone wishing to preach or teach during a chapel service would read our doctrinal statement and fill out the ministry form in this packet. Woman's Bible Study.Throughout the week we have Bible studies for the Women instead of attending the Chapel services with the men. We would love to have women come and teach a lesson. We provide nursery during our chapel or Bible study time for the moms staying at the Garden City Rescue Mission. We want them to be able to hear a clear presentation of the Gospel without any distractions or interruptions. If you would like to volunteer in this capacity or would like more information. There is a need for volunteers to answer phones and do some light office work. This is a great area for retired ladies or most anyone, male or female. We have a nice reception desk and you can interact with our guests and help a lot of people. Duties include checking in the guests form 3-6 PM and doing general supervisory work during the evening. You will have direct contact with our guest and a lot of time to witness and help them in many ways. This is a great need. We have chapel five nights a week and most of the time the men have to sing a cappella. It is a real treat to have someone to provide special music or to just come and play the piano for us. Our chapel services are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 PM . We sing all the traditional hymns such as Amazing Grace, Victory in Jesus, and Power in the Blood and so on. As for the special music we mostly have southern gospel.
