Freddie Manning is a retired fire chief who served right here in the Augusta area during his career. Freddie started helping serve meals to the homeless not long after the mission was started. In late 2001, he became the associate director and served in that capacity until July of 2005. He and his wife Brenda have been faithful members of Victory Baptist church for many years. Brother Freddie also serves in many areas of the church and is a real blessing. He was instrumental in the founding years of Garden City Rescue Mission and now serves on the advisory board.

Dr. Jerry Nelsen has been a member of the advisory board since the very beginning. He and his wife Dyanna are faithful members of Victory Baptist Church where they both sing in the choir and teach the Son shiners Sunday school class. Mrs. Nelsen was the mission treasurer form 2001-2004 and they were both instrumental in the founding of the mission. Bro. Jerry preaches at least once a month at the mission and has been a real blessing.
Charles Brown - We are grateful to have Bro. Brown on our board of advisors. He is a long time member of Victory Baptist Church and has been with the mission since 2001. Bro. Brown has helped in the homeless ministry since about 1997. He does the cooking at church on Sunday afternoons so that the homeless who come to church at Victory will have a good warm meal. Long before we ever had a rescue mission downtown, Bro. Charles was involved serving and being a real blessing.
Pastor Charlie Pennington pastors the Berean Baptist Church in Hephzibah, GA. He and the good folks at Berean are wonderful supporters of the mission. On the third Monday of every month, Berean Baptist Church comes to the mission where they cook a great meal, serve the men supper, and conduct the nightly chapel service. We are grateful to have Pastor Pennington and the church involved.
John Chambers and his family are faithful members of Victory Baptist Church. Pastor Brown led John and his wife to the Lord in their home after they had visited the church a few times. Not long after John was saved, God called him to preach. Bro. Chambers preaches once a month at the mission as well as in churches when he has the opportunity. We are grateful to have him as an advisory board member.
Mike Box has been a member of Victory Baptist Church for a long time now. He and his wife Judy are personal soul-winners and love the Lord and His work. Bro. Box works as a pipe fitter and is often out of town on big projects. He enjoys preaching at the mission when he is able and he is a big supporter of the Lord's work here at Garden City Rescue Mission.
Pastor Tim Ferrell pastor's Bethel Baptist Church in Thomson, GA. Bro. Travis and Bro. Tim went to Bible College together for two years and has been close friends since then. The members at Bethel have been great supporters of the mission over the years and we are certainly grateful for their involvement.
